Dr. Cornel West spoke at the American Public Health Association in Denver a few weeks ago. This is just a segment of his speech, the rest is on youtube. He brings up some good points about disparities and social justice in the United States, and some interesting points. I think it's clear that there are disparities in health among minority populations, and they should be focused on. Something has to be done—it won’t just resolve itself. But I don't think his ideas for achieving this justice are necessarily the best.
