Homosexuality and exclusion in comedy

Myq makes some good points in his comedy routine. When he brings up the point of how we would not let blacks marry whites, and then he relates it to guys marrying guys. The violence and acts of hate against interracial marriages were so horrible in those older times, and today these acts of hate have come back. Persecution and riots against gay marriage are a very real part of life today. But did we not learn from history? How is it our decision to say who marries who. And then it comes to the argument of church and state being separate. How do we make these laws, like proposition 8, when marriage is considered a church agreement. These are current issues that are still trying to be resolved and have good supporting arguments for both sides, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the end. We can only hope that we can come to an agreement and stop the persecution and judgments.
