This blog is designed for a class at Brigham Young University. Students use this blog to discuss elements of our multicultural society that we learn about in class. Due to the limit in the number of authors allowed, only students will be able to make posts on this blog. We welcome comments to the posts. Our hope is that this blog will foster dialogue about a number of difficult issues regarding diversity, which in turn will help us to better understand other people's diverse perspectives.
Listening to the candidate's tax plans, it is worrisome to hear both Gingrich's and Paul's plans. The tax code and the way it works should be improved, but throwing the whole thing out the window and starting from scratch is hardly a viable idea. Also Santorum's idea for the tax code which would favor some parts of the population, such as those with children, over others is very regressive and effectively picks winners and losers. The tax plan that we need will give the government the revenue it needs and lessen the burden on the people who pay the most based on percentage of their income.
